Our experienced practitioners will work one-to-one with your child. Goals identified on the treatment plan are broken down into small steps to keep your child successful throughout the session. Each small accomplishment is celebrated and creates stepping stones to achieving a bigger, significant skill!
Based on need, up to three practitioners can be present to aid throughout the session. We prioritize safety of the client and understand sometimes this takes an extra set of hands. This option can be discussed during intake and as treatment planning begins.
As our clients grow, it is our goal to prepare them for transition into a least-restrictive setting. Group intervention provides another stepping stone to prepare your child for attending school, community outings, and other social settings. We find group intervention to be a crucial part of transition from one-to-one attention to attention provided to a group. This service offers one practitioner to run a session with up to eight clients; however, group size will always be determined by what is most appropriate for your child.
Connections Behavioral Services views caregivers as essential supporters in their child's long-term success. This means caregivers should feel confident in the day-to-day routine and how to handle the "not so good" days. Caregiver training focuses on teaching the tools and strategies while also being a source of support and a problem-solving partner. This includes working with parents, grandparents, teachers, PCAs, or any other primary caretaker of the child.
Consistency across settings, and providers, is the key to maintaining progress. Practitioners at Connections Behavioral Services will meet with other providers on your child's team to collaborate and discuss progress. This may include speaking with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, or other direct support workers.
